I love my sleep...I think out of all things in life, sleep is what I enjoy the most. It's the only time you are able to allow your body to recuperate after a tough day and the only time you are left alone (no, Mummy can I have a Drink? and other such requests)!!
Further to that, I would have to say I'm not really a morning person (honestly, who is?). My 4 year old son, however disagrees with that line of thought and so has firmly entrenched himself into a routine of getting up around 5:45am, ready to start his day!

Our pre-morning routine
I call it pre-morning because, well at certain times of the year, its still dark when he gets up, so yes, its not morning....that's when the sun is up and it's light outside.... Anyway, so when said 4 year old son comes into our room at 5:45am, our pre-morning routine is this:
1. He crawls into bed with us for a cuddle - this is usually a cuddle just with Mummy because Daddy isn't so much of a morning person either!
2. After roughly 15 minutes, the ants in his pants are too much
3. We get up and I, through barely open eyes, make my way through the house to turn the TV to ABC Kids and get him a cup of juice.
4. Usually, I then go back to bed myself, and relish the next half hour before I get up at a more civilised time, closer to 7am
However, this morning was different....

Making a slight change to a habit can get you ahead...
So, this morning, I thought to myself, Rather than go back to bed, I'll start my morning routine now...shower, get dressed, hair, etc...it was around 6:15am when I started.
At just before 7am, I'd tackled about one-third of our ironing - after showering & getting dressed...
By 8am here's where we were at....both kids had breakfast, were dressed, teeth brushed, hair done, sitting calmly & playing together (we don't need to leave for school until just before 9am!); my daughter had packed her bag with lunch, etc; the washing machine was humming; beds were made....well, I think you get the picture!
I had even started writing this post!
It's amazing to think of what you can get done, just by getting up that little bit earlier..... Now I'm not promising that I'll be doing this every day, but you know, it's probably a good idea to make it a habit a few times a week.

What time do you get up in the morning and could you manage an earlier time by 15 - 30 minutes? Tell me in the comments below.
Until next week!
